My Philosophy

Education is the foundation on which being an effective and productive member of society is built. Communication and collaboration is the key to an effective educational process. When educators and parents unite for the good of our early learners, we create powerful weapons by building strong minds and self-advocating citizens. I believe that individuals develop academic as well as social-emotional skills by the interactions they see and observe around them. My goal is to assist students, their families, educators and educational leaders in developing effective strategies that will increase students’ achievement, encourage family involvement and bridge communication between home and school.

Background

I attended Jones County Junior College after high school and later transferred to The University of Southern Mississippi. Where, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in the area of Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities with a minor in Psychology. I later attended William Carey University where I received my Master of Education Degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities. I have been in education for over 14 years. I have taught in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. I am the mother of four and the grandmother of one. In my teaching experience, I have found that open-honest communication is the key to student academic growth and relationship building. I have also found the lack of or ineffective communication between families and educators can lead to decreased family participation in schools, low student achievement, and  educator disengagement. Teaching is my passion; assisting families and educators with the strategies needed to bridge communication is my calling. From tackling personal decisions to reaching important milestones, my job is to guide you on the path of success. I’m fueled by my commitment to excellence. I will go the extra mile to make sure clients are fully satisfied with my work.
